Britney Spears Files for Divorce: The Deets

As of this writing, both CNN and Fox News are using their Breaking News banners at the top to alert everyone of the divorce (on election day). So, here are the details on Britney Spears filing for divorce from Kevin Federline today. For those of you keeping score, K-Fed's rap career failed to launch last night, while Britney has been photographed looking damn hot lately. With that in mind, here are the details of the filing.

A petition was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, wherein Brit Brit cited the old favorite "irreconcilable differences." Because she apparently got her sanity back, she asked for both legal and physical custody of one-year old Sean Preston and two-month old Jayden James. Departing from her sanity, she asks for Federline to get reasonable visitation rights. No! Send him to an island somewhere! We don't want him anymore!

Unlike Reese, Britney planned ahead and has what TMZ calls "an iron-clad prenup." Part of the form requires the date of separation and Britney said yesterday. Britney got herself a good lawyer, too: "Laura Wasser, who has repped a number of celebs, including Angelina Jolie, Nick Lachey and Kiefer Sutherland."
