Cover Girl: Lindsay Lohan on GQ Magazine

So much for revamping her image. Actress Lindsay Lohan vamps it up with her cover shot on GQ magazine. Inside, she gives a Blackberry-texted interview, and you can go right here for all the deets. Here's an excerpt to tide you over:

Hello Marshall my love. How are you? Excited for our interview :)

I’m surprised and delighted that you’re doing this at the moment. That’s courageous. So—this sounds like an insane question, but what’s rehab like? You sound very chipper…

Here, many days went by. So many self-recriminations about how my questions had made her go to ground. I knew she was alive. I’d seen pictures of her shopping at Dior—while still in rehab—but I’d lost my fleeting connection with her. Until, on day ten…

Lindsay: I just wrapped night shoots and am on my way home from a productive shoot for “I Know Who Killed Me.” So tired !! But happy from a good night’s work. Sore from my appendix cuz my infection hasn’t gone away and the doctor has been poking at it every day. It’s vile looking but in time will heal. Going to Wonderland to read and sleep then work again. Xxx

What’s the weirdest thing that happened to you today? Or the best, or the worst?

Lindsay: Ummmmm 30 days sober today :) My family is coming to town Sunday. Filmed through the night and it was really great stuff that we got accomplished and looks insanely good. Ooh, also found out I’m going to Japan mid april with a friend :)

Congrats on the 30-day mark! So…personally, I’m not so great when it comes to remembering jokes, but everybody knows one or two. What have you got?

More days pass.

Hmm. I guess you’re not into telling jokes. I’ll try this, then. What’s the biggest misconception about you in the public eye? What image would you like to correct in the braying-jackass media?

Lindsay: I can’t think of any jokes.

Six minutes later…

Lindsay: Or they’re mean jokes and I’ll feel bad. I’m just a kid and someone’s gotta monitor me sometimes

Okay, now I’m forced to go all James Lipton on your ass. (Umm, that sounds creepy on several levels.) Is there anything you fear?

Lindsay: Hey sorry I’m at my apt with nikki reed trying to find something to wear. I haven’t been to Hyde since before I went to rehab and am with sober friends and feel good :) Here now wearing marc jacobs pumps and a kate and kass dress, vintage chanel messenger and topshop tights and peace sign earrings from kaviar and kind

Cover Girl: Halle Berry in Parade Magazine

Parade magazine is a Sunday newspaper insert, and this weekend actress Halle Berry makes the cover. Here's some excerpts from their recent interview with her.

In a revealing interview in this Sunday's PARADE, Oscar-winner Halle Berry discusses new details of her failed marriages, her desire to be a mom and how therapy changed her outlook on life. Below, read our Web exclusive interview with Berry, who costars with Bruce Willis in the upcoming thriller "Perfect Stranger" (opening April 13).

Also, photographer Michael Larsen, of the husband-and-wife team Larsen & Talbert, takes you behind the scenes of PARADE's photo shoot with Berry.

On surfing the Web...
In Perfect Stranger, Berry uses a false online identity to catch her friend's killer. When asked if she ever goes online anonymously, she replied: "I did at first. I thought, ‘Wow! I can be whoever I want to be. I can say whatever I want to say without being judged the way I would be if I said it.’ It was very liberating. Then I got bored with it."

"We're all the same..."
"As people, we all have insecurities and imperfections, and we're all just struggling to get it right, to figure it out and find our way. Nobody is spared that. I don't care who you are. Nobody is spared."

Playing the dating game as a celebrity...
"Fame is hard on relationships. If two of you are in the fishbowl, forget it. If one is, it's tough on a relationship. Men can sometimes feel a bit diminished. It's nothing you do but how you're perceived."

The benefits of therapy...
"People still associate therapy with being crazy. But I think you're crazy if you won't consider going to get help for yourself—to learn the tools to deal with the problems in your life. Once people see what it is and what it's not, they race to go back. They get the benefit. But it's hard to get people to the first session because of fear."

She's just one of the gals...
Writer Emily Listfield, who interviewed Berry for PARADE, says: "I was pleasantly surprised by how un-divalike Halle was. We were due to meet at 8:30 a.m., and she showed up alone, on time and was overwhelmingly polite. She is absolutely beautiful with no makeup. She was open and curious about my life, as well as willing to talk about hers. When we got onto the subject of our love lives, she was a total girlfriend, laughing mischievously and giving advice!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Behind the scenes at PARADE's photo shoot with Halle Berry

Below, photographer Michael Larsen—who, with his wife, Tracy Talbert, shot Berry for PARADE—offers fun details from the photo session:

Where did the photo shoot take place?
Miranda Lofts in Manhattan.

What time was the shoot scheduled to start?
9 a.m.

How long did the shoot last?
Five hours.

What food was served?
Both breakfast and lunch were served. Breakfast included fresh fruit, muffins, pastries and yogurt. For lunch, salmon, tangerines, sandwiches and veggies were served.

What music was playing during the shoot?
"I had downloaded what I thought was [Berry's] favorite music, which was listed on her Web site," Larsen says. "It turned out that information hadn't been updated in a while. So when I proudly displayed all of her 'favorite music' on my iPod, she looked puzzled and asked where I got my information. She laughed and explained how those were here favorites about three years ago!" Shortly after, the photography staff downloaded some of Berry's current music choices from iTunes, including Justin Timberlake and The Pussycat Dolls.

Who accompanied Berry to the shoot?
She arrived with her publicist.

Observations of Berry:
Michael Larsen says: "Halle was charming and professional, and everything went very smoothly. We had a lot of fun, took some great pictures and said goodbye."

Adds Erin Nedell, PARADE associate photo editor, who attended the shoot: "Halle was quiet, demure and not demanding. She got in front of the camera and worked it without being coaxed too much. She really knew which poses to hit."

That includes dining on her own, taking massages and one-on-one yoga classes and shopping for her new $15-million home in the Hollywood Hills. “Jen really does prefer the quiet life,” says one observer. “That’s probably why she and Vince Vaughn didn’t last.”

Wynonna Judd's Soon to Be Ex-Husband A Fugitive

Wynonna Judd has had a very tough week. On Tuesday, she filed for divorce from her husband, D.R. Roach, and when you hear what he's been up to lately, you won't doubt her decision.
On March 22, he was arrested in Abilene, Texas, and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a minor.

"I am obviously devastated," Wynonna said on her web site. "Our family will pull together, begin the healing process and hopefully – by the Grace of God – become stronger. We will move forward with our faith, family and our friends to find resolution to this difficult situation."

The statement went on to say that Roach has been seeking treatment for drug and alcohol addiction at a Texas facility since last month.

People magazine reports that "according to the Abilene (Texas) Reporter-News, Roach, 49, is being held on $750,000 bail in a Texas jail after his arrest on Thursday in Abilene. He is wanted as a fugitive from justice in Tennessee on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, the Reporter-News says."

Wynonna and Roach married nearly four years ago, and it was the second marriage for both; She has two children from a former marriage.

Uh Oh for Laguna Beach Alum Jessica Smith

Seems it's all the rage these days for celebrities to be racking up DUI charges. I hope this doesn't turn into the newest trend. Former Laguna Beach star Jessica Smith was arrested on Monday for a DUI on, quite fittingly, the freeway near Laguna.

While driving, she rear-ended an Acura due to Smith's "level of intoxication, unsafe speed, and wet roadway conditions," a statement from the California Highway Patrol read.

She was arrested booked at the Orange County Jail. Luckily, only minor injuries were sustained at the scene.

Jessica, 19, briefly dated Laguna Beach costar Jason Wahler during season two of the show and he had his own run-in with the law, recently sentenced to 60 days in county jail for assault charges. Nice.

Ali Larter in Redbook Magazine

Actress Ali Larter, now appearing in the popular television show Heroes, graces the pages inside of the March issue of Redbook magazine. The 30-year-old from Cherry Hill, New Jersey let loose on a few of her secrets.

Favorite shopping website:GapBody. I think they have great yummies - the kind of stuff you don't have to try on, like pajamas.

Best bargain buy ever: I just bought the coolest hat at Target for $10 - it's black velvet with gold studs on it. I absolutely love it!

Secret resource for fashion: Designer resale stores, like Decades in Los Angeles.

My personal style trick: Rub deodorant off your shirt with a black sock.

My style icon is: Kate Moss, because she mixes designer clothes with things you can get at the local mall, and by doing that, you can kind of create your own style.

The one item in my closet I'll never get rid of: Old Levi's, because they just get better and better. I have a pair I've patched over six times, but they just fit so darn good!

The one thing I kept from my teenage years: A black Merry-Go-Round vest. And how excited am I that I kept it? They're really in style now.Photo from Redbook.

Katherine Heigl Lands Another Movie Deal

And given the recent brou-haha over her salary at Grey's Anatomy, it's good for her to branch out, lest she find herself out of a job. Actress Katherine Heigl is going to be starring in the romantic comedy 27 Dresses, as a single woman who has been a bridesmaid ... wait for it ... 27 times.

The director, Anne Fletcher (of Step Up) had this to say, "Katherine is beautiful, so the fact that [her character] can't get a man is shocking! But it's not about her beauty; it's about what she thinks of herself."

Production is set to begin in New York and Rhode Island in May when Katherine goes on hiatus from Grey's Anatomy.

Cover Girl: Mariska Hargitay on Gotham Magazine

Actress Mariska Hargitay is gracing the cover of the March issue of Gotham magazine. Mariska is known for many things ... her role on NBC's Law and Order: SVU, being mom to one-year-old son August, her famous parents (mom was Jayne Maynesfield and dad was Mickey Hargitay). She sat down with the magazine to dish on what's going on in her life.

GOTHAM: You just signed on to do two more years of Law & Order: SVU. Your fans were elated at the news. How did you feel about it?

Mariska Hargitay: Well, you know, I went back and forth. It was really nerve-wracking. I had my son at the beginning of our hiatus, but after three months I was ready to go back. I realized I wasn’t done, and that I loved the character so much.

G: You grew up in California, but does New York now feel like home?
MH: It does! We shoot at all of these fantastic locations, so I’ve gotten to know the city. Now every street I go on, I’m like, “We shot here.” And my husband is a walker, so when we dated, we walked everywhere—and I mean, 50 blocks. That was a big deal for me, coming from California, where we don’t walk anywhere. It was our courtship. For me, it was so romantic.

G: You were 42 when you got married. Why didn’t you marry in your 20s or 30s?
MH: I just wanted to be married once, and I wanted to be really ready. I had a shrink who told me, “You have to find out where you’re going, and then find somebody to go with you.” In my 20s I was changing so much. And maybe because I lost my mother at such a young age and have always suffered so much emotionally from that, being a mother was huge to me and I didn’t want to mess it up. I think I was just so scared of being a mom that I waited until I was ready. Now I think, Thank God. The day I met Peter, I was like, That’s my husband. I’ve always been a late bloomer, but it’s always worked out for me.

G: Are you anxious about balancing motherhood and a career?
MH: August comes to work with me every day. And I feel like I’m married to the greatest guy in the world—he’s just so supportive, he’s made it work. Peter comes to me on set on Friday night at six o’clock and we start our weekend, even if I’m at work until 3 A.M.

G: You had two celebrity parents—what insight did that give you regarding raising healthy kids in a star environment?
MH: I think the most important thing is to understand that everyone is the same. Everyone deserves to be treated respectfully. Sometimes celebrities are treated as though they’re special, but I think it’s important for kids to understand that it’s temporary, that you should never, ever, ever, ever take it for granted, and that you should give back as much as you get.

When I was growing up we traveled a lot, and one of the greatest things my parents did for me was take me to live with my Hungarian family. My parents showed us that the rest of the world doesn’t live like we do in America. That really stamped me as a kid. I was like, Why are we so lucky? Why do people let the water run when other people don’t have water? Children who see that at an early age have a different understanding of humanity. I’m going to do everything I can to show August that the way some of us live in this country is not the way the rest of the world lives.

G: We were sorry to learn that your father died in September. Has grieving been different than you anticipated?
MH: A little bit. My father was sick, he had cancer, so I did a lot of my grieving before he passed away. Without a doubt, it’s the most devastating thing that’s ever happened to me, but I will say [she pauses and begins to cry, then starts speaking again in a soft, high voice]… the one thing that’s different is that I know my dad is with me all the time, and that he did everything he set out to do, so I’m OK. If I can do half the job with August that he did with me, I’ll feel like such a good parent.

G: On your website, Mariska.com, you get your fans involved with nonprofit organizations supporting women, the environment, and the world’s poor. How did you manage to use your celebrity so constructively?
MH: People like cutters, bulimics, and motherless kids started writing to me, and I just thought, Thank God the kids who are the most difficult to reach trust me, that they think I’m cool enough to talk to. And so I wondered how I could help them have their own safe place, because that’s what I want for everyone—to feel safe. I see my celebrity as an opportunity to educate and bring people together... and I’m not done with that yet.

Cover Girl: Rachel McAdams on Elle Magazine

Actress and pink-hair-hued Rachel McAdams is gracing the cover of the newest issue of Elle magazine. She is also known for her role in the movie, The Notebook, and as actor Ryan Gosling's on-again/off-again girlfriend.

"I'm not going to make movies just to make movies," McAdams says. (She's turned down loads of roles, including the romantic leads in Mission Impossible 3 and Casino Royale, Anne Hathaway's part in The Devil Wears Prada, and Agent 99 in the upcoming Get Smart, starring Steve Carell.) "I have to be passionate about it. And at the same time, I can get very distracted when I'm working, and I like to get back to my life a lot"—a love-wise life with Ryan Gosling that she fictionalized in The Notebook in 2004 and factualized with him "quite a while after the movie." Two years-ish to be exact. She's a serious sort, not one to have her head spun on a set all flibbertigibbety, hand-feeding the tabloids. They're a well-matched pair of hearts. She admires him. Her cheeks bloom when she speaks of his Oscar nomination for Half Nelson. "He did such an amazing job," McAdams says, her voice positively aching. "He worked so hard, too! He never does the same thing twice. He's very brave. I don't think he sees the point [in taking a role] unless he can find out what he's made of every time. He just doesn't back off. He goes into everything from that place."

America's Next Top Model Disrespectful?

The city of Santa Monica, California sure thinks so, which surprises the hell out of me. The show's ads were recently pulled from buses in Santa Monica after area residents complained that the show was disrespectful to women. A CW rep commented, "It's a jungle out there in bus marketing." Why is ANTM any different than any other ad featuring a waif model or underwear clad Calvin Klein guy? Inquiring minds want to know.

Vivica A. Fox - BUSTED!

Former Dancing with the Stars contestant and Kill Bill actress Vivica A. Fox was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Around 11 p.m., a California Highway patrol car noticed Vivica's Cadillac going 80 mph in a 65 zone on a Los Angeles freeway.

"Fox exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication," Tang says. "A field sobriety test was administered and she scored over 0.08" – the California legal limit.

Her rep wisely declined to comment.

The New Bachelor Declares His Love Already

Yeah, we diehard Bachelor fans have heard this story before - the newest star of ABC's The Bachelor, Andy Baldwin, is telling us that he found love on the show. You and everybody else, buddy. But, hopeless romantic that I am, I'm hoping this time (the show's 10th season) it actually does work out.

Baldwin told the New York Daily News that he "has really truly found the love of his life on the ABC reality show," which premieres in the choice spot after "Dancing With the Stars" on April 2.

"I came out with an amazing woman and I'm totally in love," Baldwin declared during a conference call with reporters yesterday.

And he really seemed to mean it.

The show's producer knocked the previous Bachelors while complimenting Baldwin: "Andy came into this with real sincerity and that's something that we haven't had from all of our bachelors, unfortunately," said Mike Fleiss.

Fleiss also confirmed that of the 10 seasons, only three of the couples from the Bachelor or Bachelorette are still together: "Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter (who actually made their love connection on "The Bachelorette"), Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice, and Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado."

The Bachelor is still doing the stupid "keep two people in a new relationship separated from eachother to kill their relationship" tactic. The show wrapped last week and Fleiss said: "We fly them to undisclosed locations and at undisclosed times to get them together." . . . They can also talk on the phone, said Fleiss, adding that the same option has been available to previous bachelors, although many declined to take advantage of it." What? Why wouldn't they want to take advantage of that? Makes no sense.

ABC also unveiled a Navy/Officer and a Gentlemen themed website for the show. Barf.

Dancing with the Stars Week One

So I am an idiot. I forgot to set up TiVo to record Dancing with the Stars last night. They are going to take my reality TV fan membership card away. Luckily, the B-list stars on the show have a cult-like following and posted videos on You Tube for our viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey and Brian Fortuna :

Laila Ali and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. I'm loving Maksim's hair:

Heather Mills and Jonathan Roberts:

Billy Ray Cyrus and Karina Smirnoff:

Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson (crappy video, but you get the idea) I'm calling it now. It's all about Joey, he will win. And yes, I am still an NSYNC fan:

Do you think they gave Joey to Kym because they felt bad for hooking her up with Jerry last year?

Tara Reid Opens Ketchup

No, no a bottle of ketchup. She's opening Ketchup. You don't know what Ketchup is? Hello! Get with the program! It's her new restaurant, of course. Page Six tells us that Tara Reid is starting a new career as a restaurateur. Ketchup, a fast food restaurant, will open in Los Angeles on March 31. Here's what Tara had to say about it to In Touch magazine: "You probably won't see me behind the cash register," Reid told In Touch. "But I'll definitely be in the kitchen making sure everything is done right."

This isn't her first foray into the restaurant biz: "Reid has invested in three other L.A. eateries (Bella, Geisha House and The Shore) and grew up in the business - her family owned a tavern in New Jersey." However, EaterLA informs us that the Dolce Group is also in on the restaurant's ownership and expresses some skepticism that the restaurant's offerings will be fast food. The Dolce Group also owns LA hotspots like Geisha House and Les Deux. Big Brother fans will also recognize one of the owners - Mike Malin.

John Popper Busted

I love me some Blue's Traveler. And John Popper loves him some drugs. The band's lead singer, 39, was arrested for drug possession on March 6th, after he was stopped for speeding near Spokane, Washington. Nice. While tossing his car, the cops uncovered four rifles, nine handguns and a Taser. Geesh, what kind of night did Johnny Boy have planned?

His reps, of course, say that all of the hardware is properly registered.

Sarah Jessica Parker Goes Back to Work...

... but perhaps not in the job you've been hoping for. Although she hasn't really worked much since having her son, James Wilke with husband Matthew Broderick and ending her stint on HBO's Sex and the City, actress Sarah Jessica Parker has a new job. Fashion designer.

Her new sportswear line, Bitten, which is set to launch this June, is going to be putting out affordable fashion, with every item priced less than $20.

Sarah Jessica is teaming up with mall-based collegiate wear seller Steve & Barry's for the new line.

In a recent statement, SJP said, "Women should be able to wear great clothes and not lie in bed at night feeling guilty about how much money they've spent."

The tagline for the new collection is "Fashion is not a luxury, it's a right."

The line will have approximately 500 clothing items and accessories, everything from knit shirts, wool and cashmere sweaters to dresses, lingerie, jeans, jewelry and footwear.

No word on if Carrie would approve.

HBO's Extras is Dunzo

Sad news for fans of the HBO series, Extras. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have decided against a third season of Extras, and will be doing a "one-off" special to wrap up the series and tie up any loose ends.

Apparently, they always intended to end the series in the early stages, but have yet to decide when exactly they will be ending it. According to the duo's rep, they "will, at some point, sit down... and write it."

Just How Rich ARE the Olsen Twins?

Aside from attending fashion shows, making Starbucks runs and sporting the latest in boho chic, it's been awhile since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen actually DID anything. Well, it turns out, they really don't have to.

The 20-year-old twins share the No. 1 spot on Forbes' Young Hollywood's Top-Earning Stars list, which was recently released. Last year, they earned a staggering $40 million, thanks largely to their Olsen-brand products aimed at the tween set.

Second place on the list? Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe. The 17-year-old earned $13 million last year for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Vanessa Minnillo's New Gig

It seems like ever since she hooked up with former Jessica Simpson husband, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo's star has been on the rise. Besides her MTV VJ duties, she is also a Bongo Girl. Now we can add "cosmetic creator" to her resume. Vanessa, 26, has signed on to be a guest creator for Flirt! Cosmetics and will be developing a limited-edition collection that will be available at Kohl's in August. Wonder if they'll have a "perpetual prom girl" collection in the line? Meow!

And if that's not enough, and really, why should it be, she is also on the cover of the April issue of Shape magazine.

Eliza Dushku News

I've loved Eliza Dushku ever since I first saw her in the movie, Bring It On. What can I say ... I'm a sucker for teeny-bopper cheerleader movies. After her stint as Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eliza is set to return to the small screen in a new pilot for Fox, Nurses.

She will play Eve, a new hospital employee who "has a wild past - and happens to be the daughter of the chief of staff," says Eliza. "PJ Hogan is directing the pilot, and he has a really crazy vibe. Muriel's Wedding (which he helmed) basically shaped my adolescence."

Little by little, more news is trickling out about the upcoming Grey's Anatomy spin-off. Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars), Merrin Dungey (Alias, King of Queens) and Amy Brenneman (Judging Amy) have all signed on for the two-hour Grey's episode that will kick off the new pilot. Looks like it's going to be a star-packed episode.

Nikki Sixx Can Write?!

Yeah, I was just as surprised as you. The Motley Crue bassist is set to pen his autobiography this Fall. The Heroin Diaries will be published very fittingly by MTV Books and I'm sure will be a doozy.

"There is some crazy s--- in there when I was at my worst with drugs. I'm glad I lived to talk about it." And so are we.

Carmen Electra Has a New Gig

Her divorce from rocker Dave Navarro is now official, actress Carmen Electra is on to bigger and better things. She has signed to co-star with magician Hans Klok in Faster Than Magic at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. Certainly a slight departure for the former Baywatch star and Prince protege. If you want to catch her act, the show will preview in April.
