American Idol News

Good or bad, American Idol and its past and present contestants always seem to remain the spotlight. Remember past contestant Mario Vasquez? He dropped out of AI in February 2005, for "personal" reasons. But now an interesting story has surfaced...

A lawsuit has been filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging that Mario sexually harassed Magdaleno Olmos, a former employee of AI producer Fremantle Media. The suit asserts that Mario went as far as pleasuring himself in front of Olmos in a backstage restroom. From TV Guide, "At the time, Olmos tried to report the incident, but was dismissed as "crazy" by his superior, who threatened him with termination (and ultimately did fire him). In addition to Vazquez, Olmos has named Fox Entertainment and Fremantle as defendants in his wrongful-termination suit."

The plot thickens...
