Just How Big is Katherine Heigl's Ego?

I'm a Grey's Anatomy fan, no doubt, and even liked Katherine Heigl, but the latest news about her salary dispute has left a serious bad taste in my mouth.

On Tuesday, the actress dropped out of contract talks with the show over her salary. The producers of the show went to her to give her a raise, and she disputed the amount because she wanted more. Forget the fact that she actually already HAS A CONTRACT for the next few years and they weren't obligated to give her a raise. Honestly! Who was she before Grey's Anatomy? Here they make a nice gesture and look what happens. Ridiculous.

"Katherine is an integral part of Grey's Anatomy and its success. Fortunately, we have a longterm contract to ensure she'll be with the show for several years to come," says the statement. "In recognition of her tremendous talent and value to the show, we recently approached Katherine with an offer to raise her compensation significantly above the terms of her current contract. We were surprised to see this gesture reported negatively in the press, and want to reassure fans that she will continue as Izzie Stevens."
