It's Official: Nick Cannon to Wed

And he certainly popped the question to his girlfriend, Selita Ebanks, in a big way.

The Drumline actor proposed with the help of a jumbotron in Times Square, getting on one knee and presenting his Victoria's Secret model girlfriend with a 12-carat diamond ring after they visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Gala. Their chauffeur took them to Times Square for the proposal. On the giant MTV jumbotron were the words, "Selita will you marry me?"

"They got engaged last night," Ebanks's agent, Chris Gay of Women Model Management told PEOPLE Tuesday. "He took her to Times Square last night and did it in the center of Times Square. Then they had a party after the Met Gala to celebrate. The two of them flew to L.A. late last night because both are working."

Nick surprised his girlfriend by flying in his mother, both her parents and best friends.

Nick is already back at work, on the set of his new film, American Son.

Nick Cannon and Selita Banks - Not Married

We were right to be skeptical about Us Weekly's report that Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks and Nick Cannon got married in Vegas.

The New York Daily News asked her about it and she said: "I don't talk to the press about my personal life," she began, "but I will tell you that I'm not married. When I'm married everybody will know. Yes, we're dating and we're happy - we're very happy. As a boyfriend, Nick is a really great guy."

Nick Cannon Has Vegas Wedding

Us Weekly reports that singer/actor Nick Cannon, 26, married Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, 24, last weekend in Las Vegas. They were in town for the All-Star weekend and decided to get married after dating for only three weeks. Their friends say a reception party will beheld in LA this weekend.

No confirmation of the nuptials from either's camp, which probably isn't a good sign if it's true!
