From Left Field: Keith Urban Goes to Rehab

E! Online reports that country singer and (more importantly) Nicole Kidman's husband, Keith Urban, checked himself into rehab Thursday. I guess I'm out of the loop because according to E!, this isn't Urban's first visit to rehab - in 1998 he admitted to freebasing cocaine. One year later he released his first solo album and his life seemed to be in order.

Here's what Urban had to say for himself:

"I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me," the 38-year-old Grammy winner said in a statement. "One can never let one's guard down on recovery and I'm afraid that I have.

"With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome."

UPDATE: A spokesman for Urban told US Weekly his trip to rehab was for alcohol abuse.
