It's Official: Former Apprentice Star Bill Rancic to Wed!

Season One winner of The Apprentice, Bill Rancic has proposed to E! Television's Giuliana DePandi, and she said yes. Smart girl.

"I thought I was dreaming," DePandi tells PEOPLE. "It was the most amazing moment of my entire life. Not only is Bill the love of my life, but he's also my best friend. I couldn't believe my dream guy was asking me to marry him!"

So I bet you want to know how he did it. He sent a limo to pick her up from the airport last night, but instead of bringing her to his apartment, the driver was instructed to drop her off at a nearby helipad. "He met her there with deep-dish pizza, which is her favorite, and champagne," says the couple's rep, Jim Dowd. Sweet!

Then they took off on a helicopter ride over downtown Chicago, and he proposed mid-air. Back at his apartment, there were rose petals everywhere and every girl's favorite, chocolate cake.

They met over 2 years ago, when she interviewed him when he won The Apprentice. At a later interview, while the cameras were rolling, he asked if she was dating anyone, and she said no. After the cameras stopped, he asked her out, and the rest is history.

Although his Apprentice win was for a one-year job with Donald Trump, he is still working on some projects with Donald, and will appear again in the new season (as he has in the past.

Funny, Bill was just on Rachael Ray the other day, giving his ideas on how much and who to tip this holiday season - you'd think Rachael would have gotten the scoop! Timing is everything.

The couple will marry later next year, in the south of Italy, where DePandi grew up.
