Will You Watch Grease?

With American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing with the Stars all being hit shows, is there room for another one? NBC thinks so, since they are premieiring a new reality show called "Grease: You're the One That I Want." It begins on Sunday, January 7, at 8 p.m.

The premise of the show is that you and I (and, well, everyone else that watches it) get to pick the two leads for the revival of Grease on Broadway this year. Entertainment Tonight reports that producers searched New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and that Olivia Newton-John will be featured in the first two episodes. I assume she's trying out for the role of Sandy.

The finalists from the talent search will get singing, dancing and acting lessons, then they will perform live so that we can decide who moves forward to star in the show. Since it's from the same producers as Dancing with the Stars, I will probably give it at least a shot to grace the hard drive of my TiVo. How about you?
