Paris Hilton's Jail Term Shortened

She hasn't even set foot in jail yet, and they've already reduced her sentence from 45 days to 23, based on "good behavior." What merits good behavior when she's not even in the pokey yet? Apparently her appearing at her last court date was one factor. So far, it looks like she's definitely heading towards the jail cell at least.

The Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman, Steve Whitmore, said that the hotel heiress will spend her time in a "special needs housing unit" at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood. She will be in a unit that has 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates.

Like other inmates, Paris will receive at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, he said.
