Cover Girl: Jennifer Garner on Allure Magazine

Mom to 1-year-old Violet, actress, Martha Stewart fan and wife to actor Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner has it good. She is gracing the cover of the April issue of Allure magazine and dishes a bit on how her relationship with Ben got started:

“He was a really fun partner in crime but I didn’t take him seriously, and he didn’t take me seriously,” she says. “We just made fun of each other and got each other through a hard movie, but it was not leaning toward romance in any way. Then he went through all this stuff in his life, I went through all this stuff in my life, and we would talk every six months: ‘Oh, how are you?’ Then I was doing the follow-up to Daredevil, and the producer said, ‘Will you call Ben and ask him if he’ll do a cameo?’ And so I called him, and we spent this day doing this cameo, and I was kind of like-Oh! We were both single. And we started emailing. It was very gradual. And surprising. And even now talking about it, I’m surprised.”

The cover girl hails from Charleston, West Virginia, and seems to be very conscious of her roots, going back to her hometown for Violet's christening. She wore a Chanel minidress on the cover, and even brought her own salad to the LA photo shoot, along with a political science book for an online class she's taking through UCLA. Is there anything she doesn't do?

I love Grey's Anantomy and eagerly look forward to each episode. But Ellen Pompeo? I don't know ... she just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it was the episode of Punk'd when she got all snotty with the waitress in a "Don't you know who I am?" way. And for those that missed it, I've put it below for your viewing pleasure.

She's in the newest issue of Allure magazine, and the interview there hasn't bolstered my opinion of her. You know how when they have a cover star, they print a bunch of different pictures of them inside, wearing different outfits at different events, and the star provides a little commentary on each? Well, Ellen did that, and in one of the pictures, her commentary was, "I bought that at Barneys all by myself." Seriously, does she get a special medal because she managed to go shopping and buy a dress on her own. If she'd lose the holier than thou attitude, I'd probably like her better. That being said, she must be a good actress, because Meredith doesn't bother me nearly as much as Ellen does.



I never knew that she did a guest spot on the NBC hit show, Friends. Obviously not a career making cameo, but her nonetheless. I love Friends - forgot how funny it was - might be time to break out a few reruns.
