JLo on American Idol?

I'm not sure I believe this one - Access Hollywood is reporting that Jennifer Lopez has signed on to perform on American Idol. AH claims it got the news from "reliable sources." The alleged performance is set for April 11.

One perfomance that we know for sure will be happening on Thursday is one by Fanstasia, the winner of Season Three of Idol. She is also supposed to be announcing her new Broadway role in the Color Purple.

A New Gig for Fantasia?

Many an Idol loser, such as Diana DeGarmo and Constantine Maroulis, have appeared on Broadway, but Fantasia Barrino may be the first American Idol winner to appear in a Broadway production. Us Weekly reports that Fantasia is in talks to star in The Color Purple this spring.

Something else Us revealed that I didn't know - Fantasia tried out for the part of Effie in Dreamgirls, the role her fellow Idol alum Jennifer Hudson used as a springboard for her acting career.
