A New Gig for Fantasia?

Many an Idol loser, such as Diana DeGarmo and Constantine Maroulis, have appeared on Broadway, but Fantasia Barrino may be the first American Idol winner to appear in a Broadway production. Us Weekly reports that Fantasia is in talks to star in The Color Purple this spring.

Something else Us revealed that I didn't know - Fantasia tried out for the part of Effie in Dreamgirls, the role her fellow Idol alum Jennifer Hudson used as a springboard for her acting career.
