Catching up with Biggest Loser's Kai

I am a sucker for a "where are they now?" article. Woman's World magazine (via Reality TV World) recently profiled Kai Hubbard, the Biggest Loser castmember who lost more weight than any woman in the history of the show. She ended up losing 118 pounds and gaining $50,000 for being the runner up, which she credits to her fellow teammates: "There were points where they carried me."

Hibbard has successfully kept the weight off since the show through working out religiously. She says that working out in the real world is easier than on the show:

"I love my real-world workouts. On Biggest Loser, many days we had to sit in a van waiting to film challenges. Other days, we'd hit the gym, pool and hiking trails for up to six hours."

Her current eating habits reflect a healthy lifestyle. She eats whole grains and healthy fats and eats every three hours. She currently does 45 minutes of running each morning and strength training at night with her friends.

Hibbard is getting married on OCtober 6 and the two teammates who helped her so much on the show will be helping out for the wedding, too. They will be her bridesmaids - how cute is that?

NBC Releases Summer Schedule

Variety informs us that NBC released its summer TV schedule early this year. The peacock network will air the following shows this summer:

May 29 - The second season of "America's Got Talent" begins. It will begin with a two-hour premiere from 8-10 p.m., run at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. The new host of the show will be Jerry Springer, who replaces Regis Philbin.

June 13 - "Last Comic Standing" will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m., with a two-hour premiere. Bill Bellamy is the show's new host, taking over for Jay Mohr.

June 18 - "Age of Love," whcih is the only new reality show being aired by NBC this summer. It will be hosted by Kelly Ripa's hubby, Mark Consuelos, on Mondays at 10 p.m. All we know is that it is a romance themed reality show. Although, being mysterious certainly worked for Paradise Hotel.

No firm premiere date - "The Biggest Loser" will premiere in late summer. We do know that the show's new host will be soap star Alison Sweeney who will replace Caroline Rhea.

Jillian Michaels is Back

Just in time for bikini season, superstar trainer Jillian Michaels from NBC's The Biggest Loser has released her newest book, Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You. In it, she lets us in on her secrets to helping her star clients slim down. Her former clients include Amanda Peet and Amber Tamblyn.

Jillian says, "When you want to get extremely lean, cut out carbs for seven days." To get rid of bloat? "Drink 80 to 100 ounces of water a day. Dandelion tea and asparagus are also natural diuretics." And when it comes to exercise, she said that adding high-intensity intervals (like one-minute sprints, for example) to your regular cardio routine is a sure-fire way to burn more calories.

You'll also:
• identify your unique body type and metabolic makeup (are you a fast, slow, or balanced oxidizer?) and customize a diet plan that is perfect for you
•learn mental techniques that greatly enhance your self-confidence and sharpen your focus on success
• develop your strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance to levels that exceed anything you ever previously attained—or would have thought possible

Now if only there was someone to do the work-outs for us...

Update on The Biggest Loser

Last month, Madison reported on Caroline Rhea being replaced as the host of The Biggest Loser. Now, a little more info. Producers are hoping that Caroline's replacement, Alison Sweeney, will attract a more younger audience, and hope that her fan base from her 14 years and counting on Days of Our Lives will follow her.

She seems to be looking forward to the opportunity. "I had a bit of a weight problem when I was a teenager," she says. "Overcoming that on television was one of the most difficult things in my career. So I understand where these people are coming from." On her website, she added, "I am so excited to host the show. It’s such a great concept, and I am so glad to be a part of it. I can’t wait to start shooting! Do you all watch the show? It’s amazing to see how hard the contestants work and how much weight they lose. Truly inspiring."

The fourth season will debut in the Fall.
