New Movies This Weekend
Had enough of the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding coverage? Take your kids, your girl or just yourself to the movie theater and escape. Plenty of new movies hit the big screens this weekend ... there's something for everyone, and the holiday rush is here.
Opened up on November 17th:
Those uber-cute penguins appear in Happy Feet.
Casino Royale, the "official" James Bond film opened up. Starring Daniel Craig, this is the first 007 book that Ian Fleming wrote (and the last to be filmed).
Let's Go to Prison, a comedy starring Dax Shepard and Will Arnett.
For Your Consideration. Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Parker Posey, Ricky Gervais star in this comedy about the Oscars, Hollywood and making movies.
Fast Food Nation. This is a fictionalized take on the bestselling book, starring Greg Kinnear and Wilmer Valderrama.
Opening on November 22:
The Fountain starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. Cancer, love, space travel. See at your own risk, although just seeing the hunky Hugh Jackman might be worth it.
Deck The Halls. Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito take the reins this year for the crazy holiday comedy genre.
Deja Vu. Denzel Washington is back, this time in a tough cop movie brought to you by the Action Movie God Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott.
Tenacious D: Picky of Destiny. Jack Black and Kyle Gass form a rock band and record songs. Meat Loaf makes a cameo, along with other rock stars.
Opening on November 23:
Bobby. Written and directed by Emilio Estevez, it includes an all-star cast with Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Sharon Stone, Anthony Hopkins and more.
