Nick and Jess - It's Really Over

Am I the only one who sorta hoped that Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson could somehow work it out and not really get divorced. Sigh. Well, now it's really really over - all their assets have been split, according to US Weekly. It took an entire year after they filed for divorce to figure it all out, but they finally divided up all their property.

Unfortch, all the details were sealed by the Court and they agreed to be bound by a confidentiality agreement. Whatever.

News Years Plans of the Stars

People magazine was kind enough to sift through all the parties out there for New Years and tell us where all the stars will be. There's still time to catch a flight to Vegas!

MIAMI:

• Lindsay Lohan has been snapped chilling poolside at the Delano Hotel, so it's only fitting that she's set to party at the South Beach hot spot alongside celebs such as Michelle Trachtenberg, Taye Diggs, Kimberly Stewart, Maxwell and Sofia Vergara.
• At Mansion, DJ AM, Travis Barker and Lohan's ex Wilmer Valderrama will reign over the festivities. As Valderrama tells PEOPLE, "What's a better way to celebrate a great year than coming to Mansion?"
• Jared Leto will helm the party at the Raleigh Hotel, owned by Uma Thurman's beau Andre Balazs, where guests can mingle in an open-air beachfront bar.
• Luke Wilson, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Robert Iler and Tyson Beckford will celebrate at Skybar as rapper Q-Tip plays emcee.
• At Setai, Jessica Alba, Haylie Duff and The O.C.'s Benjamin McKenzie will host a poolside soiree with sounds by celeb DJ Steve Aoki.
• Adrian Grenier plays a movie star on Entourage, but he'll be playing rock star at the Hotel Victor when he performs with his band the Honey Brothers.
• Ludacris will rock a party at Social Miami at the Sagamore Hotel hosted by Venus and Serena Williams.

LAS VEGAS:

• Talk about out with the old: Britney Spears will usher in the New Year with a bash at Caesars Palace's PURE nightclub – the backdrop for Kevin Federline's "Lose Control" video. Ouch!
• Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden will take over the deejay booth at Ghostbar on the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort. Will new squeeze Nicole Richie be there to kiss him at midnight?
• Battle of the exes: Pamela Anderson will host a bash at Tao at the Venetian while her soon-to-be ex-husband Kid Rock parties across the street at The Mirage's Jet nightclub – and first husband Tommy Lee performs with Rock Star: Supernova at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
• As he did in 2005, Vince Vaughn will bring his Wild West Comedy tour to Mandalay Bay. This year, John Favreau will join him onstage to mark the 10-year anniversary of Swingers, the movie that made them famous. "Vegas, Baby!"

NEW YORK CITY:

• In Times Square, Carson Daly will count down to midnight on NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly, featuring a performance by rockers Panic! At the Disco, while Christina Aguilera belts in the New Year for ABC's Ryan Seacrest-hosted Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve (Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield and Meat Loaf are also slated to perform).
• After her Times Square show, Aguilera will head over to the Hudson Hotel to guest host a party co-sponsored by Heineken (her husband, Jordan Bratman, already requested eight cases Heineken Light).
• Mira Sorvino will party with The Sopranos' Federico Castelluccio as well as Elias Koteas, Caroline Rhea and ... her dad, Paul Sorvino, at Nikki Beach Midtown.
• The ultra-exclusive Room Service will open its doors for a bash hosted by MTV'S Damien Fahey. Revelers can reserve one of the nine private suites complete with leather couches, a mini-fridge, a plasma TV and DVD player, and a concierge. Come 3 a.m. guests will even be served a gourmet breakfast. Now that's service!

It's Official: Tiger Woods to Be a Dad!

Superstar golfer Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren, announced today on his website that they are expecting their first child .

"As some of you know, today is my 31st birthday. I'll spend it quietly with family and friends, but Elin and I have more exciting news to share: We are expecting our first child together this summer. Obviously, we couldn't be happier and our families are thrilled. I have always wanted to be a dad. I just wish my father could be around to share the experience."

You may remember that Tiger's dad, Earl, died in the Spring from cancer.

Tiger will be starting 2007 PGA Tour season at the Buick Invitational in late January, but until then, he's sticking close to home to spend time with his family during this exciting time.

It's Official: Michael Jordan and Wife to Divorce

As is typical with celebrity gossip, we report one marriage, quickly followed by one divorce. But by celebrity standards though, theirs was a very long marriage, lasting 17 years. Basketball star Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, filed for divorce yesterday.

Their lawyers said in a statement, "Michael and Juanita Jordan mutually and amicably decided to end their 17-year marriage. A judgment for dissolution of their marriage was entered today. There will be no further statements."

Michael and his wife met at a restaurant in Chicago back in '89 and have have three children, Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine.

This isn't the first time the couple has been down this road. Juanita filed for divorce in 2002, but they reconciled shortly after and they began to work on their marriage. This time, it doesn't appear they're going to be so lucky.

A friend of Michael's says that the couple has been spending a lot of time together lately, even going to their son's basketball game together two days before Christmas. "You read about women wanting his attention. But grown men and children do too," Les Coney, a family friend, said. "He's a magnet. He hasn't played basketball in five years, but still, people stop and take pictures and ask for autographs. Marriage is hard for any couple, and if you add celebrity to that, it's even harder."

It's Official: Jay Mohr and Nikki Cox Got Married!

Actress Nikki Cox and comedian Jay Mohr got married last night in Los Angeles. She is best known for her role on Las Vegas, he is as funny as heck.

The pair met when he guest starred on her NBC show, and he proposed in February.

He is a former member of Saturday Night Live (1993-1995), as well as the host of NBC's Last Comic Standing and occasional guest star on Ghost Whisperer.

Although Nikki has been engaged before (to Bobcat Goldthwait; she must like 'em funny), this is her first marriage. Jay was married for 6 years to a model, and has a son from that union, Jackson.

Jay told People Magazine earlier this year "that Jackson, who was 3 at the time, would be planning the ultimate bachelor party. "(It) would be Big Wheels, a little Thomas the Tank Engine and then jumping off the furniture yelling, 'Infinity and beyond!' " he told PEOPLE. "Once in a while he'll mix it up and yell, 'Guacamole and cheese!' I have no idea (why), but it has the same result: a cannonball into my solar plexus followed by insane laughing."

Mary J. Blige Is One Classy Lady

So, while the rest of us were making fun of Britney's choices in clothing, cocktails and husbands, others were kind enough to feel sorry for her. Well, just one person that I know of: Mary J. Blige.

AOL reports that Blige had this to say about Britney's current troubles:

"I know that at some point in our lives we've all had a situation like Britney's, meaning that we all were with someone we thought loved us who actually didn't."

The Final Uncoupling of Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush

The divorce of actor Chad Michael Murray and actress Sophia Bush is final, says People magazine. The two married last year and made it a whopping five months before they separated. Both are on the hit tv show, One Tree Hill.

It must be hard to continue to be on the same show together, including having their characters sometimes romantically involved, while going through something like this. Reports surfaced that he cheated on her when they first split, but nothing was ever confirmed.
Chad moved on very quickly though and is already engaged to someone else on the show, an 18-year-old. Seems like Sophia might have escaped a bullet, but kudos to both of them for continuing to be professional in their jobs.

Tyson Arrested (Again)

This guy must be troubled. Very, very troubled. Mike Tyson and his scary face tattoo were arrested this morning on DUI and drug charges. When Us Weekly reported the story, they didn't hold back: "Lisping former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson was arrested for driving under the influence, and possession of cocaine in Scottsdale, Arizona, early Friday morning." Now they're even picking on the guy's lisp.

Tyson ran a stop sign and almost crashed into a Sheriff's vehicle around 1:45 am. He was cooperative and TMZ says Tyson told cops he had been using cocaine for the last few days and whenever he could get his hands on it. When he appeared in court today, he was told he would be charged with felony drug possession.

And here's some Mike Tyson trivia for you: Tyson converted to Islam when he was in prison and changed his name to Mike "Abdul Aziz" Tyson.

Actress Julia Roberts is Pregnant!

Julia Roberts' rep, Marcy Engelman, has confirmed to People magazine that she is expecting her third child with husband Danny Moder. The new baby will join their two-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus (Finn for short).

The couple married in 2002, and the twins were born in 2004. Julia's latest work has been lending her voice to the new movie, Charlotte's Web, which is in theaters now.

The baby is due in the Summer.

BRITNEY SPEARS
Her desperate search for love

The party isn't over for Britney Spears, who's been clubbing nonstop for the past month. Ever since the November announcement of her impending divorce from estranged husband Kevin Federline, Britney's been out on the town. She was most recently spotted at Les Deux in Hollywood, knocking back drinks and dancing on tables. But Britney's new wild ways may be the singer's attempt at masking her real desire: to find a loving and caring man. 'Deep down she's lonely," a close friend of Britney tells OK!. "She doesn't like being single, and by going out every evening shes hoping she may find someone who loves her...."

NICOLE AND KEITH
The cutie couple says "I do" for a second time

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban plan to start the new year off right. Now that Keith has completed his stint in rehab for alcohol abuse, the couple is planning to renew their vows in a tropical paradise. Their private ceremony will take place on the Caribbean island of St. John, at the home of their pal country singer Kenny Chesney. "They both agree that the second time is the charm," a friend of Keith tells OK!. "It's a gorgeous place - romantic as it gets - and the perfect location for a second wedding and honeymoon."

BRAD AND ANGELINA
What does 2007 have in store for the globe-trotting duo?

Brad and Ange easily claimed the hottest-celeb-couple crown in 2006. It's a title they won’t relinquish in '07. Caroline Kepnes, a respected film critic and screenwriter, tells OK! that people are drawn to them because they represent the perfect pair. So will America's favorite sweethearts finally tie the knot in the new year? According to Brad and Angelina themselves, there's no rush to get hitched. "We both have been married before, so it's not marriage that's kept some people together," says Angelina. "We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that’s the most important thing."

RENEE ZELLWEGER
The once-married superstar hasn't given up on love

Renee Zellweger is back on screen in Miss Potter, which tells the story of real-life children's author Beatrix Potter. Even though her marriage to country singer Kenny Chesney faltered after four months, Renee still has high hopes for finding true love. "My parents have been married for 45 years, so I can't help but believe in it," says Renee. "I've watched it. I've seen it work."

Luke Perry and Jason Priestley Together Again

Unfortunately, it was just to grab a bite to eat, but it's nice to see that after all these years, they remain friends. The two former Beverly Hills 90210 actors had lunch together on Wednesday. I'm fairly certain Shannen Doherty was not invited. I miss that show. The OC and One Tree Hill fill the void as best as they can, but it's just not the same without the gang from the Peach Pit.

Prince Harry Heads Off to War

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that England's Prince Harry, 22, is going off to Iraq in May with his unit. "Harry will be stationed near the southern port city of Basra and will likely be assigned to patrol the border with Iran."

Many are worried that he could be a rather large target for terrorists and put other soldiers in even greater danger, but Prince Harry won't hear any of it.

In other news, the Prince will be spending the holidays with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 21, and her family on Bazaruto Island, for the third year in a row. The Daily Telegraph reports that "Harry has become increasingly close to the Zimbabwean-born tycoon, who has been widely criticised for his links to Robert Mugabe. Mr. Davy is one of the country's biggest landowners and is thought to control about 1 per cent of all agricultural land at a time when many white farmers are being brutally forced out of their livelihood. Harry has refused to hear a word against him and has once more chosen to abandon the Royal Family's traditional New Year at Sandringham in favour of spending his holiday with the Davy clan."

Sounds like Prince Harry has Princess Diana's stubborn streak.

Dallas Star Victoria Principal Back on the Prowl

Actress and spokesperson Victoria Principal has officially ended her 21-year marriage to her second husband, plastic surgeon Harry Glassman. She cited the all-too-popular "irreconcilable differences" when she filed for divorce back in May.

MSN reports that court papers filed on Wednesday indicate that they have finally divvied up their "property interests worth more than $50 million." This is her second divorce.

She is probably best known for playing Pamela Barnes Ewing on the tv show, Dallas, and has been in countless made-for-TV movies. She has also written numerous books on diet and exercise, and even has an exercise video or two. She also shills for her own skin care and makeup lines.

Photo from her own website, which should probably be updated, since it says she lives in Beverly Hills with her husband, Harry.

Singer Sinead O'Connor Has Fourth Child

Madison and I consider ourselves to be pretty up on celebrity gossip. It goes with the job. But singer Sinead O'Connor just had her fourth kid? I knew she had one or two, but didn't know she was up to 4. New baby boy Yeshna Francis Neil was born on December 19th, five days before his expected arrival on Christmas Eve.

Yeshna joins siblings Jake, 18, Roisin, 10, and Shane, 2, from three of Sinead's previous relationships. Yup, four kids from four different fathers. That's Hollywood for you. In case you're keeping track, this baby's father is Frank Bonadio. Jake's dad was with Sinead's first husband, drummer John Reynolds; Roisin, comes from Irish Times columnist John Waters; and two-year- old Shane, with musician Donal Lunny. Lovely.

Sinead's latest album is due to be released April 2007.

Niki Taylor Weds NASCAR Driver

People has confirmed that after a four-month engagement, model Niki Taylor married NASCAR driver Burney Lamar at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla, California on Wednesday. The wedding guests numbered about 60, with Taylor's children in attendance.

As in every good celebrity wedding, the bride wore Vera Wang. Niki's older sister was her matron of honor and her neice was a flower girl. They were married by their hometown pastor and danced to Jack Johnson's "Better Together." The reception featured five courses including "squash soup, potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms, steak and lobster."

This is Taylor's second marriage, after being married for three years to Arena Football League player Matt Martinez. She divorced him in 1996.

Gyllenhaals Escape Fire

People reports that Jake Gyllenhaal, his sister Maggie and their family "were among the guests forced to flee Manka's Inverness Lodge in the San Francisco Bay area when the two-story wooden inn caught fire around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Marin Independent Journal reports." One of the owners of the Lodge says that Jake was helping him pull things out of the fire.

The fire was started during a windstorm, when a tree crashed into the building near a water heater. The Lodge was completely destroyed, but no one was injured. It was known as a wonderful hideaway for those seeking an escape from the limelight, including Prince Charles, the Gyllenhaals, actress Frances McDormand and her husband, filmmaker Joel Cohen.

Next Week's Show Premieres

The Glitter and Gossip offices, both West and East coast, have their DVRs all fired up for the new shows premiering next week. At the top of the list is Courteney Cox's return to tv in her new show Dirt. It premieres on FX at 10 p.m. on January 2, 2007. Dirt is a drama about a tabloid editor, played by Cox. However, E! Online reports that even with the exciting premise of following tabloid journalism, "Dirt does not live up to its promise." Ouch.

On January 2, 2007, Rob and Amber of Survivor and Amazing Race fame have a new show premiering on Fox Reality. The show, called Rob and Amber: Against the Odds, will follow Rob as he tried to become a professional poker player. I'm sorry, but I think I might have a hard time worrying that two Survivor winners will run out of money. Is that just me? One good thing to come out of this show is this sweepstakes, where you can win a three-day all expense paid trip to Las Vegas, round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and $250 spending money (which should last you at least half an hour).

Rebecca and Jerry Set a Date

The never ending engagement of Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn may actually be coming to an end, according to Star Magazine.

The rumor is they plan on finally getting married on January 6, 2007, making them the couple most likely to be the first celebrity couple married in 2007. On last night's Entertainment Tonight, they also mentioned that the toothy twosome will be the first celebrity couple to walk down the aisle in the new year, on January 6th. Although, if they actually end up getting married, I guess my theory that it was all for publicity will be proved incorrect.

Burton Gets Sued By His Ex

Us Weekly reports that director Tim Burton's ex, Lisa Marie, is suing him for fraud. She argues that "Burton, Marie’s lawyer and her friends conspired to fraudulently strip her of her right to palimony when the couple broke up." The story is an oldie but a goodie. She claims they agreed to combine assets and that he said he would take care of her for the rest of her life. He will likely call bullshit on her.

The couple dated for about ten years, when Burton broke up with her and began dating "actress Helena Bonham Carter, 40, whom he directed in Planet of the Apes (they now have a son together, Billy-Ray Burton, 3)." Shortly thereafter, Burton stopped supporting Marie.

Posh Spice Says Discipline Keeps Her Thin

I know this isn't much of a shocker, but Victoria Beckham says she does not have an eating disorder, but follows a strict diet and exercises self-control to stay thin. I bet having one of the hottest men on the planet for your husband helps, too. (Although, as Annie pointed out today, he needs to lose the driving gloves.)

People reports that Posh Spice says:
"I eat really healthy, I love Japanese food, lots of fish, any sort of fish, any sort of vegetable, lots of fruit, that kind of thing," said Beckham, the former Posh Spice, during an appearance recently on the BBC Radio program "Gordon Ramsay's Perfect Christmas Lunch."

She also said that since they live in Spain, she doesn't really care about all the speculation in the British press that she has an eating disorder. Posh also said:

"All of the girls – I know quite a few models and they actually eat, they're just naturally thin girls. And just because you're thin it doesn't mean you have an eating disorder. What is more of a concern is the age of the girls. Some of the girls on the catwalk are 13 years old and that is more worrying to me than the size of the girl, to be honest."

World of Britney Dies

TMZ reports that a popular Britney Spears fan site is shutting down and it's shutting down for all the reasons you would assume. The site is WorldofBritney.com, which has been up since 2000.

The founder of the site, Ruben Garay, expressed his loss of respect for Britney on his way out:

"As Britney keeps losing her identity and credibility within fans and industry people, so is WoB (World of Britney)... I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least). No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it's very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going."

In response to a post by PerezHilton, Garay also says that: "The decision behind shutting down the site had NOTHING to do with Britney's crotch shots and the way you played it this time was outright low. It's simply time for me to move on and the reasons are different from what you claim them to be. I still and will always RESPECT BRITNEY as a human being, we are just choosing to not go on with this site."

When even your biggest fan site decides it's time to part ways, things are not looking good. Time to shape up Britney!

America's Next Top Model Runner-Up Melrose Gets a Job

Actress Michelle Rodriguez (from Lost fame) has hired the America's Next Top Model runner-up, Melrose Bickerstaff, to design for her clothing line, Ishkidada.

As Melrose recently told Celebrity Week,
"I've been working with an amazing clothing company called Ishkadada ... It's going to premiere in Spring of '08 and I'm doing their women's line ... They are fusing new fabrics and new technology into their clothing and into innovative designs and versatility … my friend Dara Young who used to design for Betsy Johnson, it's her company and I couldn't have met a better person. She is business partners with Michelle Rodriguez (of Lost)... before I went on the show I was ... doing it all myself right now I get to focus on what I do best which is design and sketch and drape.

Melrose actually went to school for fashion design and has won awards for her designs before, so this isn't completely out of left field. The line is set to debut in the Fall of 2007/Spring of 2008

It won't debut for until late 2007, but will feature the life of Bessie Higgenbottom, an overzealous 10-year-old who wears her Honeybee Scout uniform wherever she goes.

As quoted on Animation Magazine, Amy said, "Bessie represents the ever-optimistic spaz, who believes she can grow up to be a rock star, actress, politician and brain surgeon all at the same time. And as a person who knows absolutely nothing about animation, I am thrilled to be in such great hands over at Nickelodeon. I can't wait to find out how they make those cool little people move around."

TNT Drama Saved is Canceled

The TNT network has pulled the plug on their parademic drama, Saved, starring Tom Everett Scott. A surprising choice after only one season, particularly when TNT's own website calls the show "the smash hit of the summer."

Tom starred on the show along with Omari Hardwick, who you may remember from the hit show, Third Watch.

Ellen Pompeo in Allure Magazine

I love Grey's Anantomy and eagerly look forward to each episode. But Ellen Pompeo? I don't know ... she just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it was the episode of Punk'd when she got all snotty with the waitress in a "Don't you know who I am?" way. And for those that missed it, I've put it below for your viewing pleasure.

She's in the newest issue of Allure magazine, and the interview there hasn't bolstered my opinion of her. You know how when they have a cover star, they print a bunch of different pictures of them inside, wearing different outfits at different events, and the star provides a little commentary on each? Well, Ellen did that, and in one of the pictures, her commentary was, "I bought that at Barneys all by myself." Seriously, does she get a special medal because she managed to go shopping and buy a dress on her own. If she'd lose the holier than thou attitude, I'd probably like her better. That being said, she must be a good actress, because Meredith doesn't bother me nearly as much as Ellen does.

I never knew that she did a guest spot on the NBC hit show, Friends. Obviously not a career making cameo, but her nonetheless. I love Friends - forgot how funny it was - might be time to break out a few reruns.

Rocky and Sylvester Stallone Are at the Top Again

Sylvester Stallone's new movie, "Rocky Balboa," had some stiff competition over the holiday weekend, going up against Will Smith's "Pursuit of Happyness" and Matthew McConaughey's "We Are Marshall," but yet again, Rocky rose to the challenge. The movie opened on Wednesday with a $6.2 million in ticket sales, making it the number 1 spot for the day.

Access Hollywood movie expert Scott Mantz said that "Rocky's" comeback kid theme is leading it to the top. "Stylistically it's a return to form," Mantz said. "Stallone got back to basics with the character and why people loved this big guy in the first place. He's this charming, big-hearted, loving guy. That character is infectious. When he gets back in the ring you want to cheer."

And it's even better news for Sylvester Stallone. "When people heard Sylvester Stallone was doing a sixth "Rocky" at 60, everyone said, you're kidding me! It's going to be an embarrassment', but its gotten really good reviews. It's a good film," Mantz said. "[The box office success] reestablishes him. Don't count him out just yet. Just like Rocky, Stallone's still got some power in his punch."

Britney Spears Goes Overboard

I know this will come as no great shock to you, but pop princess Britney Spears has reportedly overindulged yet again.

On December 20, she was partying at the Hollywood hotspot, Les Deux. Sources told US Magazine that she kept asking the DJ to play her own songs. Strange, huh? Do you think she actually NEEDS more attention? Well, it seems he finally played one, and they played her, following up her song with one from Justin Timberlake, "Cry Me a River."

An eyewitness told US that right after that, "She went to the bathroom and threw up all over, but she didn’t need to be carried out." Whew, that was a close call!
