What Happened to Maksim?

'Tis the season for engagements, I guess. But this one certainly came out of left field. Willa Ford is engaged to someone that is not Maksim Chmerkovskiy, her Dancing with the Stars partner. This news led to an immediate "What the hell?" reaction from me.

According to People magazine, Willa Ford is engaged to Dallas Stars hockey player Mike Modano. Willa said: "Mike and I have been off and on for four and a half years. We kept (it) out of the press as much as possible." Of the man that everyone speculated she was dating, Willa said: "Maks and I were like fire, and there was a lot of passion in our dancing." And, in a unique moment of celebrity self-awareness, Willa recognized that: "Everybody thought it was going to be Max. Max is a great friend."

I can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing that she is engaged to man after hiding her relationship with him. Either she's really smart to do that or really stupid. Only time will tell!
