Jenna Fischer Gets Reflective in Self Magazine
The Office star, Jenna Fischer, recently got self-reflective in the April issue of Self magazine. There were a few great pieces of the interview that didn't make it into the one-pager in the back of the magazine. Here's what you missed out on:

When there are a lot of people demanding my time and attention, I just remind myself how grateful I am to be working. Everyone on [The Office] set dreamed of going to Hollywood one day and working in this industry. It's really kind of a sweet, magical thing. I just imagine myself being a kid and dreaming about what that might be like one day, and now here I am. So if I can just get myself present to how grateful I am to be here, it really widens my plate. I love this phrase; it's not like you have too much on your plate, you just have to get a bigger plate.
When I moved from St. Louis to L.A., I was living in an apartment in West Hollywood that an old college friend had rented for us. Boy, was it a dump. There was no light. The windows didn't open and they were made of leaded glass so no light came through. It was a cave; my cat licked bald patches in his fur because he was depressed. And it was across the street from a gay porn movie theater and a sex-toy shop. My parents came out to visit me for the first time and my mom said, "Oh, there's a little theater right across the street—do you ever go there?" And I said, "Take a closer look. I don't think so."
Being named one of People's 50 Most Beautiful was so cool because I'd read that issue my whole life. As a little girl I would look through and dream about Hollywood, wondering what it was like. So to get to be in that issue was something that came full circle. I don't think of it so much from the beauty aspect but from the dreaming aspect. And also my cat was in it with me and he's quite handsome. The section I was in was "Beauties and Their Beasts" and I told my cat and he was so offended. He said, "I can't believe they called you a beast."
