Billboard Music Awards Fashion

Any time there's a red carpet and celebrities involved, it's always fun to see the fashion hits and misses. Some of them pull it off effortlessly, and others make you wonder if they have a mirror. Here we go.

Pop/hip hop singer Rihanna. I think the face/facial expression is a little plastic Barbie for my taste, and she's spilling out of her dress far too much for someone so young, but as far as misses go, we've seen worse.


Mary J. Blige looks great. Dressed up, but still managing to retain a bit of her flava. We like.


Nelly Furtado - remember "I'm like a bird ... I wanna fly away?" Yeah, that's Nelly. OK, I think the metallic prom dress is a bit overdone and we've seen her in this style far too often, but like Rihanna, given the options, it could have been much worse. Is that a loose thread on the bottom left?


Now here's a look we don't see from Janet Jackson too often. Sleek, sophisticated, and dare I say prim and proper? No wardrobe malfunction here. The jury is still out on the air, but the outfit can stay.


Simple and smashing, Carrie Underwood knows what works for her and works it.


Gwen, the hair! Please stop with the Judy Jetson hairstyles already. The purse doesn't match anything, but maybe it's from her L.A.M.B. line and she's probably trying to promote it.


Typical Carmen Electra ... big hair, short skirt and cleavage. It's a formula that works for her, but it would be nice if she took a chance and did something different. Demure, for example.


Could Katharine McPhee's legs actually BE any longer? It would be nice to see her in something slightly different, as this style is something she favors, but she looks great nonetheless.
