Kid Rock Does Iraq
What better way to get over your divorce than to go entertain the troops at Christmastime? Well, I guess heavy drinking would work, but this way he gets more positive press. People reports that Kid Rock flew from his hometown of Detriot on December 23 and arrived in Kuwait on Christmas Eve.
He arrived in Iraq from his Detroit hometown on Dec. 23 and from there flew to Iraq. He wrote on his blog that he met soldiers and signed autographs at three differenct camps. He also said he: "Played my guitar and sang some songs for 'em, old school style - no mic stand (so people had to hold the mic while I sang!!)." Kid also spent some time in a hospital with recently injured soldiers.
Here's what Kid had to say about it:

"This year for Christmas I wanted to make sure somebody was thanking our troops for their service, no matter what our views are on the current situation in Iraq."
I could be spending Christmas with my family, but in my heart I know this is the right thing to do – not only for our men and women in service, but also to set an unselfish example for my son and send a strong message to the world to be thankful and think of others at Christmas time."
