Rewind: Dancing with the Stars, Week 9

Why do I love Maksim Chmerkovskiy so much (and yes, I am showing off the fact that I can spell his name)? I generally don't like the bad boys. I'm going to need to think about this. I might need some therapy.

The stars seemed to really let loose this week. Maks and Laila's cha-cha was definitely my favorite, with the cute butterfly at the end (and not just because I love Maks). Joey and Kim had lots of fun, Apolo got all funky and Ian wore a freaking Elvis suit.

Is anyone surprised that Ian left? Was anyone even rooting for him? The way The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars are going this season is astounding - each week the right person goes home. If only the same could be said about American Idol.

I'm still disappointed that there wasn't an NSync reunion this week, but I'm still holding out hope that JT will ditch Jessica Biel and fly across the pond to support the Fat-one.

In other DWTS news, did you hear that Karina and Mario moved in together? People is reporting it, so that means it must be true, right? Getting pretty serious for Mario, who is typically a man-whore.

People also has some behind the scenes scoop of what went on this week, including the professional dancers' reaction to the flamenco dancer on the results show, the news that Joey Lawrence will return for the second Dancing with the Stars tour, and from Monday's show, all the deets on Apolo's 25th birthday party.

Here are some video clips from this week's episodes:

DENISE RICHARDS
The actress shares her pain over Charlie, Heather and her sick mom.

Denise Richards invited OK! into her home to talk about the past 12 tumultuous months of her life. She talks candidly about her bitter divorce from Charlie Sheen: “I hated when people said that I did it because I was trying to ruin his career.” She also sheds light on her fractured friendship with Heather Locklear (Denise is dating Heather’s ex, Richie Sambora), saying, “I understand why Heather was jealous or upset,” and reveals how she plans to care for her ailing mom who is battling cancer.

BRANGELINA
OK! sheds light on the couple’s staying power.

Forget the headlines that have Brad and Angelina on the verge of a breakup. The beautiful couple couldn’t be more in love, OK! has learned. Currently in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, where Angelina is filming the movie Wanted, Brad and Ange shared an intimate dinner date on May 2 at U Sevce Matouse restaurant. OK! also takes on the many lies surrounding the couple and sets the record straight….

TOM CRUISE
Tom tries to put an end to Katie’s friendship with Posh.

Katie has been enjoying a blossoming friendship with British transplant Victoria Beckham. But Posh’s evident control over her husband David Beckham’s life and her disinterest in Scientology has Tom worried about wife Katie’s connection with Victoria. In an attempt to keep the new BFFs separate, Tom has purchased a 1.3-acre, $35-million Beverly Hills estate, big enough to keep Katie isolated physically and mentally from her new gal pal.

IAN ZIERING
The Dancing With the Stars hottie shows OK! his bachelor pad.

Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Ian Ziering, now two-stepping on Dancing With the Stars, opened his Los Angeles home to OK!. The 43-year-old star, who resides with his dog Sparky, told OK! about his prized possession — a vintage red Corvette — his home renovations, and his reluctance to get back into the dating scene. “I’ve got friends that want to set me up. I’m not big on blind dating,” he tells OK!. “A friend of mine told me to check out this dating service. I would be so embarrassed to have my picture and bio on a dating service!”

MELANIE BROWN
Only in OK!: The former Spice Girl talks about her new baby and unexpected split with Eddie Murphy!
Melanie Brown, formerly known as Scary Spice, is the proud new mother of a healthy baby girl, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. But the joyous occasion is marred by fact that the alleged father, Oscar-nominated actor Eddie Murphy, has ceased all contact with Melanie. The new mom welcomed OK! into her home to introduce her bundle of joy to the world. “We both know this is his baby,” Melanie tells OK! exclusively. “If he wants to do a DNA test, do it. Step up to the plate and be responsible. I have no doubt that this is Eddie's baby.”

REESE WITHERSPOON
Why America’s sweetheart dumped Jake!
It just may be too soon for Reese Witherspoon to engage in a full-fledged romance. Her budding relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal cooled after the two spent Easter weekend with their families and not each other. The 31-year-old actress, who is still technically married to her estranged husband Ryan Phillippe, may also be concerned about how that will look to her children. “What message is this sending to her daughter?” asks a friend of the Walk the Line star. The press that Reese and Jake’s romance generated may have been too much for the private actress to take, and if protecting her kids meant sacrificing her personal happiness, it was “a small price to pay,” her friend tells OK!...

SANJAYA
The controversial Idol star breaks down
You saw him wipe away a few tears after he was announced in the bottom three during Country Week. Now OK! reveals Sanjaya Malakar’s full emotional breakdown before he was booted off the show. His fellow contestants had to console the tearful 17-year-old. “Even Chris Richardson hugged him,” an eyewitness tells OK!...

CHERYL BURKE
Stepping out in the hottest fashions
Dancing With the Stars’ Cheryl Burke slipped into ’70s-inspired attire and shared her hope for reaching the top spot for a third time on the wildly popular reality series. “I think Ian is so talented,” she says of her new partner Ian Ziering. “He’s in good shape and catches on quickly. I think the only thing that might hold us back is his taking it a little too seriously.” The 22-year-old dancer also reveals her fashion obsession. “I love rhinestones and glitter. The more glitter, the happier I am!”

Contestants Revealed for Dancing with the Stars 4

This morning on Good Morning America, Jerry Springer revealed the list of stars appearing on the newest season of Dancing with the Stars. Quite an interesting list, the new season kicks off with a 2-hour premiere on March 19th. Set your Tivos now. (Commentary below from DWTS producer, Conrad Greene)

• Heather Mills: "We thought it would be interesting to have someone with a disability on because we wanted to prove that dancing is something anyone can do. She really wants to prove to people that a disability doesn't hamper you in any way."

• Billy Ray Cyrus: He was "terrified" about joining the show. "He said, 'You don't understand. I can hardly do the achy-breaky dance, let alone a whole routine.' (But) I think he's going to really apply himself," says Greene.

• Leeza Gibbons: "I think for her turning 50, she wants to be opening new chapters – not closing them," Greene says of the 49-year-old former Entertainment Tonight and Extra anchorwoman. "I think there will be a lot of women around the country who will really associate with her and what she's doing."

• Joey Fatone: The former 'N Sync group member knows how to move from his boy-band days, but ballroom dancing is something new. "He says he hasn't got a clue how good he's going to be," says Greene. "He's never done anything like this."

• Laila Ali: A personal trainer and daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. "The challenge for her will be being light enough on your feet," says Greene. "She's had to bulk up, get muscular in order to box. So it's going to be getting the grace."

• Vincent Pastore: Former Sopranos star. "He just turned 60 and he had a heart condition last year," says Greene. "If Vincent can do it, anybody can do it. This is a show about real people taking it on. He embodies it more than anyone on the show."

• Apolo Anton Ohno: Olympic speed-skating champion. "It's great to get someone in the middle of their career," says Greene. "(And) it doesn't hurt that he's a great-looking guy."

• Paulina Porizkova: The 41-year-old Czech-born supermodel and wife of Cars' singer Ric Ocasek "just wanted to get out there and dance."

• Clyde Drexler: The basketball Hall of Famer. "He's a legend," says Greene of Drexler, 44. "Along with people like Emmitt and Jerry, he's one of those people who's the very best at their sport."

• Ian Ziering: Played Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210. "I got the sense with Ian he's really going to throw himself into it."

• Shandi Finnessey: 28-year-old beauty queen, who was crowned Miss USA in 2004, brings "poise" and a "vivacious personality" to Dancing.
