David Blaine: Failed Again
You certainly have to hand it to him for giving it the old college try, but celebrity illusionist David Blaine came up short on his latest stunt.
He set himself up in a spinning gyroscope five stories above Times Square and gave himself three days to escape.
He managed to get out of his shackles but failed to nail his landing on Thursday. He jumped and crashed through the stage, but was not seriously hurt. As US Magazine said, "Maybe for his next trick, Blaine will actually pull off a stunt without a hitch."
This stunt was sponsored by Target to kick off the holiday shopping season. On Friday morning, Blaine planned to take 100 children and their families (selected by The Salvation Army) on a shopping spree at a Target in Jersey City, NJ. Each family will receive a $500 gift certificate from the chain store.
His last stunt was in May when he immersed himself in a water-fille acrylic ball for seven days. He was attempting to break the world record for holding his breath underwater, but didn't.
