Courtney Love a Free Woman
Singer and generally troubled woman Courtney Love got some good news today when a Los Angeles judge agreed to terminate her probation for drug and misdemeanor assault charges.
Courtney had been on three years probation, and was ordered to complete one year of anger management counseling and a drug treatment program, serve 100 hours of community service, submit to random drug testing and pay a $1,000 fine. And if that wasn't enough, she also had to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings three times a week.
Her attorney, Howard Weitzman, tells Us magazine that, "This morning all cases were dismissed and the record was expunged before Judge Rand Rubin, who made a point that was really cool. He said 'You have done more than expected, and many times it doesn’t happen that way.' And he said 'I commend you.' He dismissed all the cases, terminated probation and [is] expunging [her] record."
Courtney told US, "I'm so happy and excited. I'm relieved. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm happy helping people and helping myself. I just want to put all this stuff behind me. It's all so last year."
Now hopefully she can finally continue on the right track. If not for herself, but for her daughter, Frances Bean.
